Weekend Update 28 Feb/1st March

It was another great weekend for the all-conquering Glossopdale Babes who are enjoying unprecedented success just now. Pride of place must go to XC Captain Kirsty Johnson who clinched victory in the SOUTH-EAST LANCS XC LEAGUE SERIES at Boggart Hole Clough. She powered away from her nearest rivals on the first lap and finished strongly 30 seconds clear of a Salford Harrier in 2nd place. Kirsty is the first ever Glossopdale Harrier to win a XC League Series. Well done KJ!

Hang on a sec – in the midst of all that there is a tiny mention of Neil, who won the 5k. With the exception of Mark O, I don’t remember any Male GDH runner actually all out winning a race in the past couple of years. Flipping heck, that’s something to be proud of.
Well Done Neil. Quite a result, what with the 70% age grading. Training is paying off.

Tricky for me this one but reasoned that Neil wouldn’t want it bigging up cos it is very much a low key race! However I couldn’t fail to include it if I wanted to mention Sharn’s run. To put it into context I recall being 4th once in one of these races behind Neil, Tom and Bessie:-)
