Kirsty Johnson’s excellent run in the Greater Manchester XC Champs was rewarded with a county vest and a place on the start line for the INTER-COUNTIES XC CHAMPS held at Cofton Park in Birmingham. She had a brilliant day racing in a top quality ladies field, came 186th out of 275 runners and was 4th counter out of 6 for Greater Manchester.
The first Saturday in March also saw the first counter in the ENGLISH FELL CHAMPIONSHIPS, which was the FLOWER SCAR FELL RACE in Todmorden. 6 Ladies competed with Caity first home in an excellent 7th place with Cheryl just edging Jude for second GDH. Debutante Eleanor Duckworth along with seasoned fell racers Lins and Beryl also had good runs contributing to the team.
Ladies team results to follow…
Chris Jackson was first home for the men, good runs also by John H, Tim C and Nick.
PARK RUN CORNER
John S, Sikobe and Dan ventured up to Bolton to do the run in historic Leverhulme Park, the Oates family and Andy B went to Marple. Much further afield, Lynne and Tim made the long journey down to the Isle of Wight to visit family and run with Tim’s dad and sister at the Medina Park Run. Looks like an idyllic place to run!

Evergreen Steve was first back for the men and Kirsty backed up her run in the XC by being first GDH lady in a new sub 40 PB. PBs also for Chris, Andy, Ian, Clive and Rachel, others checking.
