Mid March Round-Up

Chris Jackson was 7th in 43.25 at the popular CHICKEN RUN at Hayfield. John Hewitt was 12th and 1st V50 in 46.21. Fine runs also by Carl Bedson, Nick Ham, John Stephenson (57.39), Andy Wilkins (60.18) and Roger Hart.

Several GDHrs were involved in the tough FOUR INNS WALK event, 65K over the Dark Peak moors from Holmebridge to Buxton. Paul Skuse was a member of Mr Bean’s Boys who finished 11th in 10hrs, Andy Oliver (No Tea Till Buxton) 17th in 11.15 and good to see Harsharn Gill back from his Spine experience competing for team Saguila (25th in 12.20). Caity and Lins also did the ‘shorter’ 35K Three Inns Walk starting at the Snake Inn with their Explorer Scouts.

Following his sub 20 minute win at Lyme Parkrun last week, Danny Oldham continued his excellent form with 4th place in the SWAVESEY HALF-MARATHON. Danny also registered a PB time of 1.22.37 on his quest to run a sub 3 hr marathon at London this year. Sally Waxman also ran and was timed at 2.16.11.


Chris Jackson completed two races in 2 days when he finished 11th in 43.57 at the WOLF’S PIT fell race.


Lizzy Leason competed at the HELM HILL WINTER SERIES race.



A sizeable number of harriers joined Nev McGraw on his 70th birthday run up to Cock Hill in glorious weather followed by drinks and cakes at the Queens pub. Many thanks to everyone involved!

Parkrun Corner

Lots of course  PBs this week to report this week. Mark O (new GDH best time of 18.00), Kirsty, Claire O, Emma P (Glossop), lovely to see Rachel Walton back running there also, Ian Nuttall (Heaton Park), Alice  W (Stretford) and Nick (Lyme Park).  New member Paul Drury also competed at Bramhall.
