Membership

New members are always welcome and good way of finding out about the Club is to come to the Leisure Centre at 7pm on a Thursday for a chat.  The Tuesday evening coached sessions are also a good introduction to the Club, 6.45pm at various locations (see calendar for details).

Membership applications are processed with minimal formality. All you need to do is complete the GDH Membership Form and send it to the Membership Secretary, Alison Holt,  with the appropriate fee (ie. GDH only or GDH plus EA, waged or unwaged – see form for full details). Please pay be direct bank transfer to the GDH account (12445363 sort code 01-03-38).  You may also pay by cheque (made payable to ‘GLOSSOPDALE HARRIERS’).

If you would like to join England Athletics, then please pay for GDH membership and EA registration (see form for the current fee). This is for off track membership of EA, which covers road, trail and cross country events but not track and field. Members cannot join EA without going through Glossopdale as applications can only be made by an affiliated club.  The club will pay £5 of the annual EA registration fee on your behalf.

If you are going to be racing on the roads or trails, it is recommended that you opt for EA membership as you will qualify for discounted race entry fees and you will be automatically registered as running for Glossopdale Harriers.  It is also a mandatory requirement to be EA registered to take part in cross country races.  Details about the benefits of EA membership can be found on the England Athletics webpage

Junior members (up to 16 years of age) are welcome but only with their parent/guardian who must be an active member of the Club.  There is no club membership fee payable for under 16s but if a junior member requires EA registration, the current fee is payable.
