New members are always welcome and good way of finding out about the Club is to come to the Leisure Centre at 7pm on a Thursday for a chat. The Tuesday evening coached sessions are also a good introduction to the Club, 6.45pm at various locations (see calendar for details).

Membership applications are processed with minimal formality. All you need to do is complete the GDH_membership_form_2018 and send it to the Membership Secretary, Alison Holt, with a fee of £10 (£5 for unwaged). Cheques should be made payable to ‘GLOSSOPDALE HARRIERS’. You can also pay via direct bank transfer (the account details are on the form).
If you would like to join England Athletics, then please add £10 to your subs. This is for off track membership of EA, which covers road, trail and cross country events but not track and field. Members cannot join EA without going through Glossopdale as applications can only be made by an affiliated club. The club will pay the additional £5 to EA.
Junior members (up to 16 years of age) are welcome but only with their parent/guardian who must be an active member of the Club. There is no club membership fee payable for under 16s but if a junior member requires EA registration, £10 is payable.
If you have any questions, then please contact the Membership Secretary firstname.lastname@example.org
We are an athletics club registered with UK Athletics, the governing body for athletics. As such we are bound by their rules, and also those of our regional administrators, the North of England Athletics Association. Therefore, the rules of our club reflect the criteria imposed by the governing bodies for the sport.
- Don’t join more than one club as a ‘first claim’ member;
- Don’t enter races as a Glossopdale runner if you are not a paid up member;
- Don’t claim EA discounted race entry fee if you are not EA registered;
- Do pay your annual subscriptions on time;
- Do wear official club colours when you compete as a Glossopdale Harrier.
