If you’re new to running, have recently got back into running after being out of action for a while or if you’re nervous about joining a running club, we’re here to help!
Running has an endless list of health benefits, both physical and psychological and running with a group is a great way to socialise, increase your confidence and motivate you to keep it up!
As a club, we train together on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We meet at Glossop Leisure Centre and run on roads, trails and fells in and around Glossop and sometimes further afield. A large number of people in the club also enjoy going to races together for some friendly competition and a good day out.
If you’d like to run with a group but you’re not yet ready to take the next step in joining a running club, why not join a free beginners running group to get you going? If you really enjoy it you might then feel ready to join the club, where you’ll be very welcome!
Glossopdale Harriers member, Kirsty Johnson, runs a beginners group every Wednesday evening called ‘Run2Achieve’. They meet at 6:30pm outside Glossop Leisure Centre and it’s completely free to join. If you’d like to give it a go, you can find more information here.
