It’s time to get out in the hills. Here’s a few local challenges and historic race routes.

Glossop 3-Trigs
This has been used for years as a time trial, a social or a training route. A good solid 12 or so miles visiting our three most local trig points.

Glossop Fell Race
Held between 1981 and 1989 this was a local classic covering around 22 miles with a climb of 4,200ft.

New Glossop Fell Race
Only held once in 1994 this covers around 22 miles taking in Higher Shelf Stones and Alport, then crosses the snake followed by a tour along the northern edge of Kinder.

Kinder Bastard
Road and trail runners beware – this wont be fun (hence the name). Devised during 2020 covid-world by Ian Crutchley, this takes a visit to Kinder for a run you’ll never forget.

Glossopdale “Women Only” Fell Race
Only held for two years in the 90s, this short, sharp route takes a tour up to Harry Hut and back.

Saddleworth 10 Trigs
Glossopdales Chris Webb created this gem, by stitching together the Saddleworth and Northern 5 Trig routes. Chris’ inaugural run time of 6:17:54 will take some beating!

David Bray Memorial Race
Held between 2005 and 2009, this is a lovely out and back to Wild Bank Trig, with a loop around Lees Hill in the middle.
